Refund policy

DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE OR WRONG

If your print arrives damaged, misprinted or incorrect, email hello@archive78.studio as soon as possible with your order number and, where possible, photographs of the print and packaging. Prompt contact helps me investigate with the print lab. This request does not limit your statutory rights.

I’ll arrange an appropriate remedy at no cost to you, including a replacement or refund where applicable. Your legal rights may also include repair or a price reduction, depending on the circumstances; you do not have to accept a replacement where you are legally entitled to a refund.

Please keep the print and packaging while the issue is investigated. You may not need to return the print. If a return is needed for a faulty or incorrect item, I’ll arrange and pay for it.

CHANGED YOUR MIND — OUR 30-DAY OFFER

Archive 78 offers a voluntary 30-day change-of-mind return period. Contact me and send the print back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price, subject to the conditions below.

You pay return postage. For this voluntary offer, prints must be unframed, unmounted, untrimmed and undamaged. Return them rolled in the original or equivalent protective packaging.

These additional conditions apply to the voluntary offer only. They do not restrict your statutory cancellation or faulty-goods rights, explained below.

Refunds under this offer are issued to the original payment method within five working days of the print arriving back.

YOUR STATUTORY RIGHT TO CANCEL

For standard catalogue prints delivered to Ireland, the EU or the UK, you may notify Archive 78 that you are cancelling within 14 days after delivery, without giving a reason. You may also notify me before delivery. Send the print back within 14 days after notifying me. You pay the direct return postage for a change-of-mind cancellation.

You may inspect the print as you would in a shop. If handling goes beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, a deduction may be made for the resulting loss in value where permitted by law. The stricter conditions of our voluntary 30-day offer do not apply to this statutory right.

To cancel, email hello@archive78.studio with a clear statement. Include your order number, name and the print you wish to return. You do not need to wait for approval for your cancellation notice to take effect.

Refunds for statutory cancellation are made without undue delay and within 14 days of your cancellation notice. Unless I have offered to collect the goods, I may withhold the refund until I receive the print or evidence that you have sent it back, whichever is earlier. Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, with no refund fee. Any standard outbound delivery charge paid is included; extra charges for an upgraded delivery service are not. Archive 78 currently provides standard shipping free of charge.

Nothing in this policy limits other mandatory consumer rights that apply to your purchase.

WHERE TO SEND A RETURN

Please email before sending anything back so I can provide the correct return address and instructions. The address printed on the parcel belongs to the print lab. It should not be used for customer returns unless I specifically instruct you to do so.

Unwanted returns are handled by Archive 78, not the print lab. Sending a parcel to the wrong address may delay or complicate recovery and processing. Keep your proof of postage.

CANCELLING BEFORE DISPATCH

Prints go into production quickly. If you need to cancel or change an order, email as soon as possible. Once production begins, I may be unable to stop the print being made or dispatched. This does not affect your applicable cancellation or return rights.

Please check your delivery address carefully. If you spot a mistake, contact me straight away so I can check whether it can still be corrected. If delivery fails, contact me so I can investigate and explain the available options and any applicable costs.

CUSTOMS AND IMPORT CHARGES

Shipping is free worldwide. Customs duties and import taxes, where applicable, are not included and are the recipient’s responsibility. Charges paid directly to a carrier or customs authority are not refunded by Archive 78; any recovery must be checked with the organisation that collected them. This does not affect any refund rights you have against Archive 78.

A NOTE ON WHAT TO EXPECT

These are warm-toned monochrome prints, with a subtle warmth rather than neutral grey. The original 35mm film grain remains visible. Both are intentional characteristics of the work, but this does not exclude a genuine printing defect or a print that does not match its description.

All prints are supplied unframed. See the size and framing guide before ordering. Room images are illustrative; use the stated measurements to assess scale.
