N°6 - Wicklow
Winter Storm, Military Road
Printed and dispatched within 3–5 working days.
ABOUT THIS PRINT
There is a specific spot along the old Military Road, high in the Wicklow Mountains. As you wind your way toward Glenmacnass and on toward Glendalough, you round a bend, and the landscape opens up, with long views toward Scarr and Tonelagee. With the right conditions, it's a spectacular scene.
On this day, a passing rainstorm was clearing to the east. As it moved, it revealed the mountains in the distance, still half-obscured by rain. The road ahead was empty, and for a moment, the conditions were perfect.
Shot handheld on a Leica M6 with Ilford HP5 Plus, developed in my darkroom.

A NOTE ON PRINT TONE
These are not strictly black and white prints. Each image is toned in post to a specific warmth, a slight shift away from neutral grey. It's subtle. They'll read as monochrome at a glance, but there's warmth in there. That's intentional.
Shot on 35mm film, the grain of the original negative is part of the image.

Mockup images are for illustrative purposes. We recommend measuring your wall before ordering.
FRAMING
Framing is not included. These are poster-format prints, designed to sit flush in a frame with no mount. Standard A1 and A2 frames are widely available from IKEA, Desenio, and most independent framers. A simple black or natural wood frame works well.
For the best finish, I recommend professional framing with anti-reflective glass. It makes a significant difference to how the print reads on the wall.
